I have been a gym enthusiast for a long time but years of neglecting my diet due to family and work obligations my weight had slowly crept up on me. When I stumbled upon Cocoon Fitness the first thing that made me want to join was the clients on the testimonial page, so writing my own testimonial is a proud moment. I had previously trained and competed with NPAA in May of 2013 and placed 4th in a class of 18 competitors. I felt proud of my accomplishment but at the time I was extremely depleted and probably not the healthiest competitor. Cocoon Fitness prepped me for my second show in NPAA where I placed 2nd in a class of 16 and I felt amazing. Weight has always been a constant struggle for me my whole life , as long as I can remember. Before I met Jason with Cocoon Fitness, I topped the scales at 300 lbs, and I was in the worst shape ever. I had no energy, high blood pressure, sleep apnea, knee and joint pain and I knew that something had to be done. I wanted to be able to play with my son and be able to keep up with his energy. This was going to be my last effort to reach my goal weight, so I knew I needed help and that was when I deceided to have the lap band procedure done. So on November of 2009 the surgery was done and my life has changed so much since then. I started on my life long journey of loosing weight by changing my food choices and working out at the gym. I had lost weight from the lap band but I still felt that I was not getting the results I needed to be able to reach my goal weight. When I met Jason on December 18, 2012 I weighed 189 lbs and I still wanted to loose another 30 lbs to reach my goal weight. With Jason's guidance and knowledge, with the proper nutrition and exercise program for me, I was able to reach my goal weight and even surpassed it by 16 lbs. The total weight I lost with Jason was 45 lbs. Jason made me aware of my own personal responsibility I had to accept to reaching my goal; for me it all came down to mind over matter by the food choices that I was making. Jason always listened to my concerns and gave me the encouragement I needed when I wanted to give up on myself when I had doubts about what I could accomplish. From my 3 weekly weigh ins to all my texts with questions , Jason was always there for me every step of the way. He gave me the straight forward truth, even when I didn't want to hear it! So from the start of my journey till now, I have lost 158 lbs and went from a size 46 pants down to a size 7, no more high blood pressure, sleep apnea, or knee and joint pain. I am very happy with Cocoon Fitness and with my results and would highly recommend Jason to anyone. Cocoon Fitness was the best thing I ever did for myself. As a competitor of a high stress competition, spending 6 months of my life in great reliance on a trainer, Jason definitely exceeded my expectations. From grumpy days to a million questions, Jason was always reliable and willing to talk me through anything I needed. I never once doubted Jason’s abilities or knowledge and always felt like I could put my 100% trust into him to do what was best for me. Unlike a lot of trainers, Jason always had logical reasoning behind what he was doing and proved that his decisions were beneficial, healthy and knowledgeable. One day I decided I wanted to take my training to the next level. I had luck losing weight before, but I never got the results I wanted. Once I met Jason and learned about his background, and saw the results he had gotten other clients, I knew it was the right decision for me. Before I started my weight loss journey with cocoonfitness I was not in a very happy place as I had allowed myself to gain 30 pounds. When I first started my membership I didn’t have high hopes to succeed, I had tried different methods before and had quit within a week or two, but right way, I knew this time I had found the right coach to help me reach my goal. Jason is an incredible coach; he is professional, knowledgeable, compassionate, and patient. He is 100% no nonsense and will give me the straightforward truth, even when I don’t want to hear it. That being said I was always treated with respect and dignity and made to feel I was his number one priority which is a rare trait in any business. For years I had talked about losing “just 10 pounds,” but no matter how many times I tried, I just couldn’t do it. Knowing I had to try something new, I finally decided to enlist the help of a trainer/coach/nutrition expert. And that’s when I stumbled upon Cocoon Fitness. I’ve had the privilege of working with Jason of Cocoon Fitness for the last couple of years. He was my personal trainer at one point and got me down to a goal weight of 110 lbs. the first time I used his services for dieting and nutrition. I started Cocoon Fitness on Jan 2nd, 2012, with a promise to myself to get healthy. I was 51 years of age and found myself in place where it was increasing difficult to even maintain my weight, even where it was. Being pre-menopausal and having a thyroid problem, made it too easy to make excuses for myself as to why I could not lose the weight. I decided that was just what it was; “an excuse”, an easy way out not to look at what was really wrong,….and that was the food, that I was choosing to eat. Since the age of 27, I had been working out in the gym 5-6 days a week, doing heavy cardio and weights. Although I had decent level of cardio fitness and had some muscle mass, I never could seem to lose the fat I was carrying around. It was a constant roller coaster; doing the exercise and not eating properly, undoing all of progress I could have made by going to the gym. Cocoon Fitness designed a personalize menu plan, customized to my activity level and lifestyle. It was easy to follow, easy to understand and I was eating real food, which the rest of my family could also eat. Back to basics, eating whole foods, getting rid of high sugar content forced my body to give up the fat. Losing over 40 lbs., has reduced my cholesterol and blood sugars, has completely eliminated knee and hip pain I was experiencing from running and put me in a size that I have not seen since I was 15 years of age! My fitness levels have markedly increased, especially with running as I can run longer and faster. I am started to see the muscle definition that for years was hidden under layers of fat. Cocoon Fitness’s regular weigh-ins on Monday, Wednesdays and Fridays was a huge support and gave me the discipline to stick to the food plan, when I first started the program. The food plan afforded me a variety of food and snacks that I did not expect to be there. Balanced out throughout the day, it stabilized my blood sugar and I never found myself hungry,…not even once! I am thankful for the knowledge and expertise that Cocoon Fitness is able to provide; a direct result to my success, in losing a lifetime of carrying around extra weight. Weight has been a constant struggle for me my whole life as long as I can remember. I would have never reached my dream weight without the help of cocoon fitness. Before I started a diet and workout program with Cocoon fitness, I was in a bad relationship and settling into my 40's. My metabolism had slowed to a stop and I felt worse and worse every day. I have been working out steadily for the past 8 years and have tried several diets however I have never managed to get to my ideal body shape. I would lose 5 to 10 pounds and gain it right back in a short period. Over the course of 15-16 weeks, Cocoon Fitness literally transformed me from a middle-aged, over-weight man into a man with a lean, muscular and very fit body. I started at over 210 lbs and a high body fat percentage and ended up at 175 pounds with a low body fat percentage and more muscle.
